MAY 28, 2010 What kind of gun? A new Jonah Hex trailer has just been released which some say does a better job than the first trailer that many compared to the Wild Wild West misfire. The biggest offender seemed to be what many claimed were the "machine guns" on the side of the horse. Well, the scene certainly deserved its smirk moment, but I'd like to think that those who complained about the guns have seen a western movie or two. Prior to seeing the first trailer, I really thought I was going to see machine guns, because some commented on the horses not reacting to the sound. Well, what was attached to the horses (and it's only a nitpicky point) are gatling guns on either side of the horse and not machine guns. The reason that I bring it up, is because those that mentioned it brought it up because they thought it lowered the movie down to the level of science fiction most often presented in The Wild Wild West (the movie and TV show). I will say that, although the guns seemed slightly absurd in their construction, it wasn't something that couldn't have been done in the west of the time where someone to be of the mind to do so. Thus, I don't think the scene will take one completely out of the film when it arrives. But then, we'll have to just wait and see. "Ain't It Cool News" has posted both trailers HERE.
